When scanning film with theDigital Pocket Cinema Camera, the shutter button must be pressed before you can start scanning. The camera remembers the settings that have been set, so if you set the scanning exposure and white balance settings correctly then all you need to do is press the shutter button to begin the scanning session. If the sensor was exposed for a very long time (for example, in a dark room), the camera has a hard time recovering the original exposure. When the camera can no longer recover the original exposure it will auto-expose the next frame, which may be too bright or too dark.
